The world lost a remarkable soul on Friday, May 1, 2026, with the passing of Kevin Brewington. A devoted father, son, brother, and friend, Kevin was a pillar of strength and kindness whose influence reached across the globe. He lived by the profound mantra, "Am I my brother's keeper? Yes I am."-a question he answered every day through his selfless actions and his generous heart.
Born in Washington, D.C., in 1978, Kevin was the youngest son in a family of four. It was in the capital that he first cultivated the values of love, responsibility, and hard work that would define his life's journey. Kevin's pursuit of excellence led him to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Finance. Driven by a lifelong commitment to growth, he later earned his MBA from the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business in 2017.
With over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, Kevin was a highly respected leader, serving most recently as the Head of Liability and South Zone Leader for North America. Throughout a career that included leadership roles at premier firms such as Chubb, Allianz, and Liberty Mutual, Kevin was celebrated not only for his professional acumen but for his integrity and mentorship. He didn't just lead organizations; he championed the people within them.
Kevin's commitment to community took root at UNC Charlotte, where he became a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., pledging in the Fall of 1997 as #6 (Rosewood). Over the next two decades, he remained a steadfast mentor and a "light" to new inductees, serving as Dean of Pledges and ADP. To Kevin, brotherhood was a lifelong vow of service and support.
While his professional and community achievements were vast, Kevin's greatest pride was his family. His legacy of kindness and goodwill lives on in his beloved son, Connor, who was the light of his life. He is also survived by his son, Connor Brewington of Peachtree, Corners, Georgia; his devoted mother, Pearl Brewington O'neal of Belhaven, NC; his brother, Charles Brewington of Plano, Texas; and his former wife, Donyell Brewington; and many friends across the world - all of whom carry his memory forward.
Kevin Brewington's presence was a gift to those who knew him. Though he is no longer with us, the light he shared remains bright in the countless lives he touched.
Services have been entrusted to A. S. Turner & Son Funeral home of Decatur, Georgia, & People's Funeral Establishment of Washington, NC.
