Ishmel Hargett Obituary

Mr. Ishmel Yusef Hargett was born in Williamston, North Carolina on July 16, 2008, to the union of Danielle Shack-Hargett and Dante Ali Hargett. He was called home on July 4, 2024, at the age of 15. He attended Martin County Schools. He was a bright, intelligent, and immensely talented young man whose presence brought joy and positivity to all who knew him.

Ishmel's multifaceted talents were a testament to his creativity and passion for the arts. As a comedian, he had a natural gift for humor that could light up any room. His skills as a dancer were unparalleled, with a grace and rhythm that mesmerized audiences. Ishmel also pursued his love for music as a rapper, where he poured his soul into every verse, captivating listeners with his lyrical prowess. His grandfather Ralph taught him to play the piano. On the basketball court, he was a force to be reckoned with, displaying skill, agility, and a competitive spirit that earned him admiration from teammates and opponents alike.

Beyond his artistic endeavors, Ishmel was known for his electric personality. His infectious energy and warm demeanor had a way of brightening the darkest of days for those around him. He approached life with emotional intelligence far beyond his years, always mindful of others' feelings and quick to offer support or a kind word.

Ishmel's love for his family was evident in everything he did. He expressed his affection openly, showing unwavering support and care for his siblings and loved ones. His respectful nature and willingness to lend a helping hand made him a cherished friend and confidant to many.

Though Ishmel's time with us was tragically cut short, the impact he made in his short life will be remembered forever. His legacy of kindness, talent, and positivity will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him. Ishmel Yusef Hargett's memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were touched by his presence. Ishmel Yusef Hargett leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and creativity that will continue to inspire and bring joy to others for generations to come.

His maternal grandparents were Marjorie B Shack (deceased) and Danny C Shack (deceased), and his paternal grandparents, Jacqueline Hargett and Ralph Hargett. 

Ishmel leaves to cherish his memory: by his siblings Tylique Dixon, Jaconna Thomas, Kalief Shack-Metellus, Keon Hyman, Koby Hyman, Najah Hargett, Ali Hargett, Nasseem Hargett, Najiyah Hargett, and Na'imah Hargett; his aunts and uncles: Sharon Whitfield, Rafiq Hargett, Bisa Hargett, Carrie Shack-White (James), and Danny C. Shack Jr. In addition to his siblings and extended family, Ishmel held a special place in the hearts of his nieces and nephews: Kylel White, Jahmya Sheppard, Khalila Sheppard, Ali Hargett Jr, Seven Dixon, Oliver Dixon, Mia Dixon, and Az' Rael Mundo.  He also leaves behind his loving friends and his fav Lyaisha Sheppard. Ma’kayla Taniya Griffin was very special to him. 

Ishmel, we love you but God loves you best. Rest in peace our Angel
